Curtis and Lee Anne Benz are passionate about equipping people with long-term care coverage so they can stay at home to receive care when possible and have choices about how they will spend the rest of their lives.
Curtis Benz
Curtis began offering long-term care coverage almost 20 years ago, when few people were talking about long-term care and fewer people knew about it. Curtis was among the first insurance agents in the state of Tennessee to offer long-term care insurance. Curtis recognized then that people had no choice about how they spent their lives after they needed care. Aware that regular health insurance did not cover long-term care, Curtis chose to focus his career on educating people and providing them with options. At that time, most long-term care insurance policies were created to cover nursing home stays.
Since its early stages, Curtis has seen the long-term care industry change dramatically, with more people having the opportunity to stay at home for care. Policies now reflect the growing home care industry, and Curtis has only become more certain that everyone who can should protect their future, and the future of their families, with long-term care coverage.
Curtis graduated from Goodpasture Christian School and Middle Tennessee State University. He is an avid sports enthusiast and can answer almost any sports trivia question you can throw at him. He has coached for many years in Dixie Youth Baseball and youth basketball.
Lee Anne Benz
Lee Anne came to long-term care insurance by a longer path. A former political reporter, Lee Anne served as Public Relations Director at Two Rivers Baptist Church before starting her own Web development and print design company, Chocolate Penguin. Lee Anne continues to serve many Chocolate Penguin clients, but has found that she shares Curtis' passion for long-term care coverage.
Lee Anne watched her own parents struggle after their retirement to care for an aging parent. Lee Anne's grandmother suffered from dementia and although financially comfortable when her health began to deteriorate, her money was quickly depleted when she needed long-term care. Lee Anne's parents had to make difficult choices and change their retirement plans to care for her grandmother. They provided her with the best care possible, but it came at a great financial sacrifice. As Lee Anne watched this unfold over many years, she realized how crucial long-term care coverage is.
Lee Anne found herself talking passionately to people about long-term care insurance and realized she wanted to join her husband in his commitment to help people avoid losing everything they have worked their lives for, only to find they have no choices when they need care. Together, they have created Benzltc and have made it their mission to help people protect their lives and their families.
Lee Anne graduated from Lebanon High School and Middle Tennessee State University. Her other passions include sports, music and Tennessee politics. She served for six years as a commissioner of minor league and major league Dixie Youth Baseball and served on its board.
Curtis and Lee Anne have three boys, Bo, Curt and Daniel, and are members of Long Hollow Baptist Church. In addition to their children, they are parents to Luci, a beagle, and Lexi, a bichon frise.
